The Irish Breeders Classic holds the richest show jumping young horse class in the world. The show was founded in 2012 by Ronan Rothwell of Boleybawn Horses. His primary aims were to establish an event which would boost demand for horses bred by Irish breeders and to attract new investors to the sport.

The result is a competition which has gained  international recognition, with many past winners going on to have top international careers.

Each year the Goresbridge sale is an exciting partner to the Irish Breeders Classic competitions. From the proceeds of the foal sale 2% of the turnover goes back into the Classic prize fund giving owners the opportunity to purchase a future champion. In recent times new highs have been achieved with an average sale price of €12,000 and with a top lot sold for €26,000 in 2022.  In 2023, there was a 100% clearance rate.
